For quite some time now, I’ve been thinking of stuffing my “trendy” shoes and keeping them away, and if I don’t crave for them the whole year, then I’m getting rid of them. All that while stocking up with staple shoes.
I’m turning 23 in a matter of weeks, and I just feel that it’s about time that I shop sensibly. Of course, shopping sensibly is tantamount to dressing sensibly as well, keeping the value of quality over quantity in mind.
I started the shopping year with my new Mel Pop III flats in black. It’s such a throwback to my Pre-Dent/Pre-Clinical years (a.k.a. “The Glory Years”) when we wore skirts and black shoes. I like the way Pop III is so simple. I intend to get it in different colors, actually, though not all at the same time.
It was really fun stocking up my shoe collection with leopard prints, flats in cute colors, glittery heels and the like, but being that I’m no frequent partygirl, it’s no longer the most practical way to go. At some point, overdecoration gets too tiring. I think I’d like to have a nice set of staples, and then I’ll dive into all the glitz and frivolity.
I’m trying to find the delicate balance between style and sensibility. I wanna be pretty, but practical too.:)
